Sealing Instructions
To prepare lids for sealing, place them in a pot and cover with water. Bring the water to a simmer (180 degrees Fahrenheit / 80 degrees Celsius) for 10 minutes to activate the sealing compound. After a successful vacuum seal, the lid cannot be reused to create another vacuum seal, though it may be used as a temporary cover for short-term storage. Bands can be reused and should be hand washed and thoroughly dried.
